Caravan & Hermes Part I

Friday, May 24, 2013

Haha, the title can be misleading but thats what I got up to today after finishing up a critique at Uni.

Caravan is just next door from our campus... (literally theres only one door that divides us).
I have never been as I've been so occupied with projects and deadlines, but with some free time me and a friend thought why not?

After getting a bit confused on whether we choose our tables or we get seated by a server, we were lucky to get seated as they mentioned it was fully booked for lunch.

We started of with the caramelised onion, garlic pizza which was pretty delish and a huge portion to for a starter compared to their small dishes.

Me and Nicole wanted to try a few things from the menu so we ordered a few dishes and shared, as sharing is caring ; ).

Our next course was the small plated mackerel with miso sauce which was pretty good and well cooked.  We also ordered the duck breast served with coconut rice with pineapple and pak choi! Thats love right on a plate.
To my surprise the pineapple was salty on its own but it complemented the duck together so well, worth a try.

By then we were so full we didn't try their famous coffee! But theres always a next time.
Overall the service with the atmosphere was good and the food was nicely cooked and flavoured too, definitely worth visiting again.
