Unwanted but not forgotten

The reduced blueberries story...

If you know me well you know I am a sucker for a great bargain. Bargains just seems to gravity towards me! A few weeks ago I picked up a couple of large packs of blueberries for only £0.90p each, down from £3.00.

So what do you do with 4 packs of reduce blueberries that someone will eventually throw away? You spend time and use them, making what was going to be trash because of it’s label, into beautiful, delicious muffins. Putting them on a beautiful serving tray so they can shine and bring joy to others... I guess I'm not talking about muffins anymore though I really do like muffins....hmmm.

These packs of reduced blueberries reminded me of myself, a funny thing to say right?
But sometimes I know we can feel like the unwanted, forgotten packs of blueberries. Some of us may even carry labels that people in the past have imprinted on us that had made us feel unloved and not good enough. You may still be feeling this way now or know someone in your life.

Labels are sticky, sometimes helpful if you like organising files like me. However some labels are just hurtful. Some will eventually fade away but others can stick for a lifetime. But there is hope as it is written "know the truth and the truth will set you free" - John 8:23.

Our creator can do just that. He can restore all the hurt you have been through, the rejections, the pain, feeling alone and unwanted. He can restore all that is broken in you and turn it into something beautiful. He can use our brokenness for his glory. Isn't that just beautiful?

When I feel like the reduced packs of blueberries sitting in the clearance basket, when I am overwhelmed with life demands and I feel wearing and not good enough, this verse always comforts me, and I hope it will comfort you too shall you need it.

with much love,
T. x
